Home visits are undoubtedly an excellent alternative, especially in some cases, to traditional clinic visits. Not only do they make it possible to avoid always or at any rate risky contact with other patients, but they also save a lot of time and stress. Importantly, the clinical examination carried out at the patient’s home is essentially no different from that usually carried out in the GP’s office. When the specialist arrives for the consultation, he or she has basic tools with him or her, such as a stethoscope, blood pressure gauge, thermometer or the necessary materials and emergency medication. In this way, he or she is able to easily make a diagnosis and take further steps, such as writing a prescription and, if necessary, a leave of absence from work or school.
