CRP protein is the most sensitive protein of the so-called “acute phase.” It appears in the body as an immune response to an inflammatory agent just a few hours after contact with a pathogen. Thus, by determining its level, any infection, including bacterial, viral, parasitic and fungal infections, can be detected very quickly. NASAL SWAB
A nasal swab is taken using a special brush. This method is completely painless, does not cause damage to the mucous membrane or require special preparation. It can be repeated many times regardless of the age of the test subject. We use the nasal swab in the diagnosis and treatment of influenza, as well as RSV and edenovirus infections responsible for most respiratory diseases in children under 2 years of age.
THROAT SWAB
Probably all of us have suffered from a sore throat or hoarseness, ailments typical of the autumn and winter season. Often, at the initial stage of the development of an infection, it is difficult to determine whether bacteria or viruses are the cause of the ailment. In such a situation, it is worth taking a throat swab, which will help to precisely determine the cause of the disease and implement appropriate therapy. This avoids unnecessary administration of antibiotics, which is especially important in the case of children. The examination is, of course, completely safe for the patient.
